About Us
Preserving Our History. Strengthening Our Families. Inspiring Future Generations.
At New Beginnings, we believe that Black history is more than a single month of celebration—it is a living legacy that deserves to be shared, explored, and celebrated every day of the year.
Our mission is to bring families, communities, schools, churches, and libraries together through engaging educational resources that inspire learning, meaningful conversations, and cultural pride.
Our flagship product, Get to Know Me: The Lost Historical Trivia Game, was created to make learning Black history fun, interactive, and memorable. The game introduces players to influential people, historical events, inventors, pioneers, artists, entrepreneurs, and unsung heroes whose stories have helped shape our world. It's an opportunity for families to laugh, learn, and grow together while discovering that Black history extends far beyond the familiar names found in most textbooks.
And we're just getting started.
Our first book is coming soon, expanding our mission by providing even more inspiring stories, educational content, and historical knowledge for readers of all ages.
At New Beginnings, we envision a future where our educational resources are used in homes, schools, libraries, churches, and community organizations, helping people of every generation gain a deeper understanding of Black history and its lasting impact.
We believe that every game played, every story shared, and every lesson learned helps strengthen families and preserve a rich cultural legacy.
Let's learn. Let's grow. Let's celebrate Black history—one family at a time.
Meet the Owner

Angeline Oliver is a passionate historian, author, and lifelong advocate for preserving and celebrating African American history. Her love for Black history began in the fourth grade and has remained a guiding passion throughout her life. Inspired by the stories, achievements, and resilience of African Americans, she has dedicated herself to ensuring that this rich history is shared with future generations in meaningful and engaging ways.
After a distinguished 45-year career as a nurse, Angeline embraced a new chapter focused on education, research, and writing. As the proud mother of four children, grandmother of 21 grandchildren, and great-grandmother of 16 great-grandchildren, she understands the importance of passing down knowledge, culture, and family legacy.
Driven by her belief that Black history should be celebrated every day—not just during one month of the year—Angeline created the African American Trivia Board Game, an interactive educational experience designed to bring families, schools, churches, and communities together through learning and conversation. She also authored the companion book, The History About Us, which expands on the stories, people, and events featured in the game, offering readers a deeper understanding of African American history and its lasting impact.
Through her work, Angeline uncovers and highlights the rich tapestry of African American experiences, bringing attention to the remarkable individuals and stories that have too often been overlooked. Her mission is to make history engaging, accessible, and relevant for people of all ages.
Angeline warmly invites everyone to explore the complexities of identity, heritage, and culture, inspiring meaningful conversations and a deeper appreciation for the history that continues to shape our communities. Her hope is that every family will discover, celebrate, and preserve the legacy of African American history—one conversation, one game, and one generation at a time.
If you'd like, I can also create a short executive bio (75–100 words) for the homepage and a longer author bio for the back cover of The History About Us.
